On Friday, July 23rd we gathered to celebrate the birth of our King, His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I. Dubwise Jamaica chose this occasion to do its first event in over a year @ Skyline Levels. Levels is at the top of Jacks Hill in Kingston, and usually houses live events such as Levels Live and Live from Kingston. Due to Covid restrictions we had a limited number of guests, but the vibes were right and the people were excited to return to Dub it! Music was provided by Jason Panton (Dubwise Miami/Wrd Sound Pwr). The special guest for the night was Samory I, who did not disappoint. His unique voice, and heartful delivery had the crowd way up! Along with Samory I, a great many artists in the industry passed through and gave us the vibes we needed. Aza Lineage, Pashon Minott, Lila Ike, Jaz Elise, Naomi Cowan, Jesse Royal, Runkus, Yaadcore, King Izem, 5Star Celestial, just to name a few. Many from the reggae industry and radio stations were present for what felt like a family reunion.
The next Dubwise Pop Up will be announced soon. You don't want to miss it!
